Lolo Creek - MT. Except for heavy rain, the trip up the Bitterroot Valley was relatively easy. On September 9-11, 1805, the Corps camped near Lolo Creek, naming the area "Traveler's Rest." They also took advantage of the hot springs to relax and gain strength for the trip ahead, which would turn out to be the worst part of their journey.
